Iphone 5S will not send email

My husband's iPhone 5s has never sent and email but receives them fine. He gets the message "message was rejected by server." After deleting and installing his email to phone and calling Charter, it still doesn't work. According to Charter, everything is working fine on their end and that the phone is set up correctly. What should I do? Does anyone have this problem? This is his business phone and we NEED it working right!

Did you use the following settings? (assuming your domain is charter.net)


Incoming Mail Server

  • Account Type:IMAP
  • Username: ---@charter.net
  • Server hostname: mobile.charter.net
  • Server port: 993
  • Authentication: Password
  • SSL/TLS:Yes



Outgoing Mail Server (iOS)

  • Username: ---@charter.net
  • Server hostname: mobile.charter.net
  • Server port: 587
  • Authentication: Password
  • SSL/TLS:Yes

Replace --- with your username or email address. Also check this: http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/974021 to verify your outgoing mail server has your username and password filled out.
